I am happy to provide my clients with a superbill to seek reimbursement from their insurance provider. Please note, each insurance company has different policies in place regarding out-of-network reimbursement. However, you can easily check your out-of-network benefits here to better understand the potential costs of attending therapy services with me. As a reminder, I also work with HSA/FSAs.
As a counselor, I have the mindset that everyone could benefit from therapy. The reasons individuals/couples seek out therapy greatly varies and is dependent on a range of factors. Common reasons can include:
• Experiencing difficulty managing emotions or relationships
• Dealing with a traumatic event or loss
• Feeling stuck or lacking direction in life
• Noticing destructive patterns in behavior or thinking
• Feeling overwhelmed or unable to cope with daily challenges
• Struggling with unresolved past wounds or traumas
If any of the above reasons resonate with you, it may be appropriate to seek counseling to address these issues with the help of a professional.
The length of time a person attends therapy varies based on each person and their unique needs. If someone is seeking therapy for a specific concern (life adjustment, recent break-up, etc.) treatment may last a couple of months. Other individuals may choose to attend therapy for several years as part of their journey toward greater mental wellness. Couples typically attend therapy regularly (1/week, biweekly) for several months and then reduce their frequency as they enter the maintenance stage. I work with all my clients to find a treatment schedule that works best for them based on a combination of factors such as: reason(s) for counseling, financial resources, emotional availability, and schedules.
