Individual counseling provides a safe space for a person to explore and process personal challenges, emotional difficulties, and behavioral patterns with a therapist. People attend individual counseling to help with a variety of issues surrounding their mental health. The therapeutic process is collaborative and confidential with the therapist and client working together to help the person gain insight into themselves and their life experiences. This increased insight often leads to personal growth, improved coping skills and emotional healing. As a therapist, I generally work with clients experiencing:
Anxiety/Depression
Communication Obstacles
Codependency
Gender, Sexual or Personal Identity Development
Life Transitions
Low Self-Esteem/Self-Confidence
Relationship Dynamics
Women’s or Men’s Issues
Individual Counseling
Couples counseling is a therapeutic process to help couples address and resolve issues within their relationship. Couples counseling can also be beneficial for people looking to strengthen their emotional connection and communication to avoid larger relationship concerns in the future. During couples counseling, the therapist works with the couple to improve communication, identify and address underlying issues, and gain an understanding of differing perspectives while collaboratively developing strategies to empower the relationship. Through couples counseling, relationships can strengthen in understanding, connection and overall satisfaction. As a couples therapist, I generally work with couples experiencing:
Affairs/Infidelity
Communication Issues
Codependency
Divorce/Conscious Uncoupling
Intimacy/Sexual Concerns
Parenting Differences
Polyamory/Consensual Non-monogamy/Non-Traditional Relationships
Pre-Marital Counseling
